More Thoughts From Me: A Return to Halo

I remember playing the first Halo and thinking it was amazing. I had never seen anything like it. A first person sci-fi shooter with, at the time, stunning graphics. Interesting story too. Then I played the second one and was let down by how short it was and how it ended. I think I played the third one but after that, well, I didn’t have an Xbox One. Now I have an Xbox Series S and I’ve checked Halo Infinite. Here are my thoughts on the game so far!

I never thought I’d play Halo again. I played the first one, the second, and maybe the third one. After that, I didn’t have an Xbox One. I never thought I’d have an Xbox Series S. So when I got the Xbox Series S and gamepass, I thought I might check out Halo Infinite, but I kept hesitating. I use to be into first person shooters some but these days I prefer rpgs and sims. However with the new Winter update out today, I thought now would be the time to check out Halo Infinite!

And wow. Oh wow. I love this game.

I forgot how cool Halo was. Shooting aliens, picking up weapons, exploring a spaceship. It felt familiar but also different. It was pretty cool.

Oh and the grappling hook is amazing. It feels like Master Chief is suddenly Scorpion from Mortal Kombat. Get over here! You can grab objects and also grab onto enemies. Best of all is that you grab onto higher areas and go up. This really adds something very unique to this game. The vertical gameplay is fantastic.

The controls were easy to pick back up. That said, I’m playing the game on easy mode and still dying some. You can’t just run into a bunch of enemies and I keep doing that! Lol. I’ve never been great at stealth. You can imagine how good I was at Metal Gear Solid games! So yeah, I do find myself having to pull back and hide and then go out and shoot some and then hide again. I am making some progress in the game.

I got to the outdoor area and that is even more amazing than the inside. The graphics on this game are just out of this world. Halo Infinite looks great and plays great. I’m so happy that I’ve finally played this game.

I can’t wait to check out Forge mode! I’ve seen previews of levels that are being made there is its jaw dropping. I want to play some custom levels. Maybe I’m even doing that as you read this.

I will try to write something about Forge soon here on GamesReviews.com. I just wanted to talk first about the Campaign mode first. I haven’t even tried multiplayer yet. I want to get use to Halo again before checking that out.

Halo Infinite is fantastic so far. I can’t wait to play more of it!

More Thoughts from Me is an opinion column. The thoughts expressed here are mine and mine alone. I use to really like the Halo single player, but I loved the multiplayer even more.
