Story of Seasons: A Wonderful Life Release Summer 2023

It’s A Wonderful Life was one of my favourite Harvest Moon games, and one of the best games I played on my Nintendo GameCube. I sunk hours and hours into this experience, and was handsomely rewarded with a fun experience. I recently hopped back into the game for a few streams last year, and it did not hold up as much as I thought it would. Today, it was a nice surprise to see Story of Seasons: A Wonderful Life being remade for the Nintendo Switch.

a wonderful life

At this point, it would not shock me if every Harvest Moon game is eventually remade under the Story of Season’s banner. And I’d be fine with that too! With the Harvest Moon name taking a nose dive in popularity (and quality), it’s great to see these games getting a new lease on life, alongside new Story of Seasons’s experiences. Check out the trailer from the Nintendo Direct below:

Here is a bit from the developer,

The latest entry in the long-running series brings players to Forgotten Valley, a tranquil community where they will begin their new carefree life growing crops and raising animals surrounded by family. Returning fans will find plenty of exciting updates to Forgotten Valley, while newcomers to the series will discover the joys of cozy farm life and the extraordinary characters that make this series shine.

I’m really excited to play this game once again, and cannot wait to see what little things will be added to flesh out the experience even more. When replaying the game last year I noticed how few things there were to do outside farming. With the great progression in this genre over the past few years, it will be interesting to see if any changes are made, or if we are going back to a very traditional farming experience. We at least no you can grow old!
