More Thoughts From Me #128: Warioware Goes Gold

I love Warioware. I may have mentioned that before in this column. But why do I like this series? And why am I so excited for the upcoming release of Warioware Gold for the 3DS? Lets take a look at the series and the upcoming entry!

Warioware is so weird, strange, goofy, silly, and freaky. I think thats why I like it. There is no other series that I can think of that can weird me out, gross me out, or make me laugh as fast as Warioware can.

I didn’t always love Warioware. I use to think it was too silly. Then I played Warioware D.I.Y. on the DS. I loved that game. It was so cool to be able to make your own mini-games. After that, I fell in love this series. I enjoyed playing the “regular” Warioware games.

The mini-games in this series are short, very quick boosts of freakiness. And the mini-games usually take advantage of whatever system they happen to be on. So, for instance, if there is motion controls on the system its on, you can expect motion. If there a microphone on the system, expect to use it. And so on.

Next up in the franchise, coming in August, is Warioware Gold for the 3DS. Yes, a brand new exclusive game thats coming to the 3DS. As of this writing, Nintendo has not announced this game for the Nintendo Switch. Thats not saying they won’t. We could get a surprise Nintendo Direct before the game comes out that announces it’ll be on Switch too. I hope not. The 3DS deserves to have some   exclusives and this is a good one.

With 300 games, Warioware Gold could be the biggest Warioware game yet. It’ll also be taking advantage of 3DS exclusive features like the microphone! You will be able to dub your own voice into Warioware cutscenes. That is so goofy!! I can’t wait to try it.

The game will also take advantage of touch controls, motion, quick reflexes, and amiibo.

I think Warioware Gold will be a lot of fun. I hope it remains exclusive to the 3DS. Nintendo should leave it there, in my opinion, and work on a Warioware exclusive to the Switch for later. I would be excited for that one too!

Wariorware isn’t a game for everyone. Some people will not like Wario’s unique brand of humor. I like it a lot. Just don’t tell Wario ok? That guy is a handful.

Warioware Gold comes out on August 3rd. Will you be buying it?

Next week: More Thoughts may run a little late next week. My birthday is on Monday, July 23rd. There will be a More Thoughts but it’ll probably be out on Thursday. Also it’ll contain my first impressions of Ocotopath Traveler for the Nintendo Switch!

More Thoughts From Me is an opinion column. The thoughts expressed here are mine and mine alone. I think I’ll go play some Warioware now!
