Middle-Earth: Shadow of War

New details were provided about the new title from Monolith and Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment during the Xbox One Briefing. I wasn’t sure we would get all this info, but I’m glad we did. A few things stood out to me…

First, the voice acting and story telling in this game appears phenomenal. Perhaps they put the best on display in this demonstrations, but the story seems free flowing and open to being changed, by you the player. Kill who you want, or take them over and add them to your squad. When you enter battles, give orders to your troops, and their dialogue seems to act accordingly.

Second, the ability to create armies and tackle large bases and fortresses is another added layer of depth that will make Shadow of War feel much different than the original title. There will be much more management with this game, and I’m Ok with that. It appears as if Monolith is looking to combine a strategic menu system with a fantastic action, adventure title. I hope it works as well as it appeared to on stage at E3.

Finally, Shadow of War is adding more factions and more areas to explore, making this entry in the series larger and more dense than the past. Tons of new tribes and lots of new flora and fauna will make the game feel different, while maintains the feel of Middle Earth. We are very excited to see this all come together when the game launches this fall!
