Flexo – The World’s Only Flexible Brick System

There is one major player in the brick building marketplace, and many other companies are trying to do their part. The biggest issue is that too many of these companies are attempting the same formula: plastic bricks that go together and build various toys. Enter Flexo, the only company to change the formula and turn the industry on their heads. Instead of hard plastic bricks, Flexo has introduce flexible bricks, and the possibilities are endless.

Flexo Bricks have a one or more small notches in the top that will allow creators to attach two bricks together using a small rubbery connection piece. This is what provides the toy with the ‘Flexo’ name, because of the flexibility created when this is done. The video below does a great job demonstrating what this looks like in various ways! Take a look:

What’s more, from the various commercials and documents I’ve read, Flexo can be a standalone product – we had the fantastic opportunity to look at two sets – or will work in conjunction with your other brick building products. We’ve actually done both, so read on for more!

Flexo Inventor Set – Bright

Our first real experience with Flexo was putting together the trampoline depicted in the picture on the Flexo Inventors Set – Bright box! While skeptical at first – how well could these little rubber connectors hold up – I was incredibly impressed with the results. These are incredibly sturdy building blocks, and I dropped some fairly heavy objects on the set to see what would happen. We dropped baseballs, Hot Wheels cars, and more. It even upheld to a softball! The quality was outstanding, and that alone would make me consider picking this set up again.

What’s great about the Bright set is that it comes with hundreds of pieces, most of which are brightly coloured and will really push the imagination of the kids playing with it. Although the box toutes over 800 pieces, remember that this includes the small rubbery connectors, of which there are hundreds. That’s all OK though, because these connectors are vital in making your creations flex the way you want them too!

Ocean Life Series – Crab

The other fantastic set we took for a spin was the Ocean Life Series – Crab experience. I love when companies release specific lines of sets, and the Ocean Line Series is a fantastic example of this. We had the chance to look at the Crab, but you can also buy a turtle, fish, seahorse, and stingray! What I really love about these sets is not just the number of extra Flexo pieces you receive, but I love how vibrant and detailed the sets actually are. Giving building block toys the flexible treatment makes them so much more versatile, which is a huge plus!

Using With Other Building Block Toys

Part of what Flexo advertises is that their blocks are easily compatible with other major brick companies, and by adding Flexo to your other collections, you can take your imagination to new places. My sons and I did this almost right away, and the fantastic items we were able to create were endless! Whether creating plank bridge over streams, or using blocks to create treads for vehicles, the possibilities really were endless, making Flexo one of the most impressive brands on the market right now.

Although you might be drawn to other toy manufacturers over others – especially when it comes to building block sets – it is never a bad idea to introduce a little Flexo into your world. You never know what you will be able to create!
