Towerborne (Game Preview) Thoughts

I’ve been playing Towerborne’s game preview on Xbox Series a little bit and thought I’d share some thoughts on the game so far. How is Towerborne?

Towerborne is a sidescrolling beat ‘em up with rpg elements. You create your character, choose a class and go on missions where you fight enemies in a sidescrolling beat ‘em up fashion. There is a hub world and also a world map. The game has a cartoon-like drawn style to it.

It’s a neat game so far. The controls are pretty simple to pick up and play. The classes give you different ways to check out the simple combat. Its more of a beat ‘em up than an rpg but the rpg elements do help make the game a bit more interesting.

Towerborne seems like a game where you’d want to play one or two fights and then go off and play something else and come back to this game later. There is an online mode and we haven’t checked that it out yet. Its possible that the game will be much more fun with friends.

Towerborne is in preview mode now so the game isn’t finished yet. They may add even more features to this game. If you like side scrolling beat ‘em up style games, then you may want to check this one out. Its nothing we haven’t seen before but it is well put together and it does run well on the Xbox Series.
