KontrolFreek Thumb Grips

I’ve often visited my local game store to purchase or pickup games, and always bypass what I use to consider the “suckers” section of the store. You know it – the place where they put those thumb grips, silicon sleeves, decals, etc. The area where you spend money on things people don’t need. I was a complete skeptic. Thankfully, KontrolFreek decided to test the skeptic in me, and send along thumb grips for both Xbox One and PlayStation 4, and while I’m not here to tell you they are must own products, having them has been a decent improvement in my overall gaming enjoyment!

blankKontrolFreek has a number of different thumb grips to choose from, through a number of different lines. The sheer number of options makes finding the best grips for your experience, incredibly easy. You can get low profile grips that sit just a bit above a standard joy stick, mid level grips, and high grips, which would accommodate larger hands. Further, you can choose what type of grip you get as well, whether rounded at the top, or concave so your thumb holds nicely centered on the stick.

Through their various lines, KontrolFreek has also allowed players to customize their controllers based on their favourite games, with licencing deals with Call of Duty, Borderlands, and more!

Through dozens of hours of engineering, the company has created thumb sticks that easily attach, and don’t come dislodged. I’ve used other brands products in the past, and it wasn’t uncommon for a thumb stick grip to break within a few weeks of use. I’ve been rocking the KontrolFreek grips for almost a month now, and they are as sturdy now as they were on day one.

At 14.99 to 24.99, these are a fairly inexpensive way to enhance your gaming experience – I’ve talked with so many people who find traditional controllers to small for their hands, mostly because of the angle of their thumbs when playing games. I’ve passed a few of these products to friends, and have heard nothing but rave reviews back.

If a standard controller is uncomfortable for you, these are a must own.
