Disney Dreamlight Valley Wonderland Update Impressions
On Wednesday, Disney Dreamlight Valley released its newest free update, Wonderland! I checked out the update and here are my impressions. Warning: there are some spoilers!
I love Disney Dreamlight Valley and look forward to each and every update. The Wonderland update especially had me hyped since I’m a huge fan of the original animated movie and the live-action Disney ones too. The new realm seemed perfect for this game!
And now I’ve played it and have some impressions of it.
So what did I do first? Well, I bought R2D2 from the premium shop of course.
Wait. What?! R2D2 isn’t a Wonderland character. Well, Disney also is releasing some Star Wars content via the premium shop. You use the game’s in-game shop money: moonstones to get stuff from there. Moonstones can be bought but also can be found in the game. I’ve never bought any moonstones, yet of course. And I thankfully didn’t have to buy any for R2D2! I had enough moonstones for him.
R2 isn’t a new villager, instead he’s a companion who follows you around everywhere outside. Normally the companions are little animals, though that got changed up with the Aladdin update where they added the carpet as a companion. I was having the carpet follow me around but now its R2D2. WOW. I’m so very happy. I’m a huge Star Wars fan and hyped that they are bringing the series to this game.
What about Wonderland though? Yes after I got R2D2, I went to the magical castle and found the Wonderland door. I had enough Dreamlight to unlock it. Then…it shrunk!
And a rabbit came out of the door. I followed the rabbit to hole and then found myself falling into Wonderland. As soon as I got there, I saw the singing flowers, mushrooms, and Alice! I went over and said hi to Alice. My Wonderland adventure began.
I don’t want to tell you everything about the update but I will say that Wonderland area is bigger than you’d think. Not as big as the Aladdin update but still larger some of the other free updates. You also meet the Cheshire Cat in this update too. He’s a hoot!
After helping Alice, she moved into the Valley. I moved her to the Storybook Vale DLC which has a cool area that has large mushrooms in it. Its very Wonderland like. I do not have the cat yet because he takes longer to unlock. He’ll eventually move into the Valley too. I’ll also put him in Storybook Vale.
Overall, I’m super impressed by the Disney Dreamlight Valley Wonderland update. The new area is beautiful and the new characters are…well…wonderful. The story for the update is good too. The quest for Wonderland doesn’t last as long as the Aladdin update but as previously noted, its bigger than most of the other updates.
The Disney Dreamlight Valley development team is getting even better with these free updates. They really have upped their game with the Aladdin and Wonderland updates. I can’t wait to see what they do next! I’m still hoping we see Winnie the Pooh eventually. I’d also love to see Star Wars get content via a paid DLC too. We need Star Wars villagers! It would be so cool to live next to Grogu!
Loved the Wonderland update. Can’t wait till the Cheshire cat moves in and I want to become better friends with Alice and the cat.
What do you think of the Wonderland update? What would you love to see come to Disney Dreamlight Valley?
