Animal Crossing New Horizons: Post Bunny Day Thoughts

The egg curse is over! The eggs are gone! GONE! Bunny Day is finally over. What did I think of the event? Well…

Bunny Day was a mistake.

Let me back up a little. I loved Bunny Day in New Leaf. In that game, it was one day and you went around finding eggs and the bunny gave you stuff.

But in New Horizons, the holiday was different. Instead of one day, the event was 12 days. There was 12 days of eggs in the sky, in the water, underground, in stones, and in trees. And the animals wouldn’t stop talking about the eggs! It was madness.

The worst problem was the eggs in the water. Every time you went fishing, you would catch multiple eggs and it made it harder to catch fish. Nintendo did some kind of update that was supposed to cut down on the spawn rate of the eggs. I didn’t see much of a difference.

The water egg problem was even a problem during the recent fishing tourney, making it harder to compete (and so frustrating).

By the time I got to the actual Bunny Day, April 12, I was already tired of the event. I got the Bunny Day basket but didn’t bother making all the recipes in order to get whatever special item Zipper had. I was ready for it all to be over.

Now Bunny Day is over. There are no eggs to be seen in the river, trees, stones, or sky. Zipper is gone. The animals no longer talk about the event. I am so very happy.

So yes, Nintendo ruined Bunny Day. The holiday wasn’t enjoyable. I saw more people online complaining about the event, especially the water eggs, than actually enjoying it.

I hope Nintendo tweaks the event next year. It shouldn’t be 12 days. The eggs shouldn’t spawn that much.

The animals shouldn’t only talk about Bunny Day. Its even worse on the actual day…

Oh and those Bunny Day outfits that the animals were wearing…those are just plain awful…

sigh. Its over. Here’s hoping the next holidays are better!

What did you think of Bunny Day? What are your hopes for the next holidays?
