Reed Remastered

Reed Remastered is a new platformer for the Nintendo Switch. The game has short, challenging levels and a pixelated graphical style. Is it a platformer you should check out? Here is our review of Reed Remastered for the Nintendo Switch!

Reed Remastered is a platformer that focuses on quick challenges over extended content, including a story. Each level of Reed is very short and takes fast reflexes to avoid deadly traps. This is a one hit kill platformer and thats my biggest complaint about the game.

The main character of Reed only has one life. If you get hit with something, you die. If you land on a spike accidently, you die. Reed Remastered desperately needs a health system. The deaths in this game feel, for the most part, very cheap. And even though the levels are mostly short, its a real pain to have to repeat a level over and over until you get it perfect.

That said, the gameplay itself is good and the each level is well designed. And thankfully, the game has good controls and if you have quick reflexes, than you should do fine with this games level of challenge.

The best part of Reed Remastered is its graphics! The pixel art in Reed Remastered is extremely nice. Everything from the main character to the enemies and even the backgrounds are well done. Its nice how the reeds bend when your character goes among them. Nice attention to detail there.

Reed Remastered is a great game overall. Its one hit kill mechanic does feel cheap, but its gameplay, controls, and graphics are really well done. If you want a platforming challenge, you may want to look into Reed Remastered.

Reed Remastered gets an 8.0 out of 10.

Thanks to Ratalaika Games for providing a digital code for this game. Reed Remastered is currently available on the Nintendo Switch eshop!
