A Ray of Sunshine: A Look At Rayman Legends Definitive Edition for Nintendo Switch

When Adam Roffel asked if I had any interest in Rayman Legends for Nintendo Switch, I couldn’t say yes fast enough! I had played the Rayman Legends demo on the Switch and loved it. I had played the demo on Wii U and loved it. But I had never played the full game because some other games were always coming up and distracting me from Rayman Legends. Boy was I missing out!

I really loved the Rayman Legends Definitive Edition demo for Nintendo Switch, but I was not prepared at all for how amazing the full game is.

From the moment I started playing Rayman Legends on Switch, my jaw was on the floor. The game’s graphics were fantastic (more on that tomorrow) and the gameplay was stunning. Rayman Legends Definitive Edition is the type of game that Nintendo would create, think more 2D Kirby or Yoshi than 2D Mario.

I like Mario, don’t get me wrong, but the design of those 2D Kirbys and Yoshis just seem more colorful and jampacked with variety. And variety really is the key to Rayman Legends excellent level design.

Each world of Rayman Legends is totally different from each other. In fact, each level in each world is packed with variety not just visually but in gameplay too. Take, for instance, the amazing undersea levels which include swimming, stealth, puzzles, and fighting on elevators. And that’s only so far because I haven’t beaten all those levels yet.

Rayman Legends levels are pure fun. You just never know what the game will throw at you next. Don’t let the fun fool you though, Rayman Legends can be a really hard game and you will find yourself dying a lot. Stick with this game! There is just so much to see and do here.

Rayman Legends Definitive Edition has a ton of worlds and levels, daily challenges, touch screen only levels, and a multiplayer game to boot. You will be playing Rayman Legends for a long time. This will be a game where you’ll want to revisit levels to get a better score and see if theres anything you missed. Ubisoft created a fantastic game and I’m so glad they brought it to the Switch.

I highly recommend that, if you love platformers at all, you download Rayman Legends for Nintendo Switch right away. You do not want to miss out on this wonderful game.

Tomorrow, I’ll write about Rayman Legend’s graphics. Excuse me, I have to go play some more of this game now!
