Fullblast

The 2D space/air shooter genre has been around since the early days of arcade games. The basics of the genre haven’t changed much, mostly its the graphics that have changed. Fullblast for Nintendo Switch is a new 2D shooting game that takes place on Earth and has you controlling an aircraft thats taking on some aliens. The game doesn’t have much of a story, though 2D shooters rarely do. The important thing here is whether Fullblast is a fun game or not.

Fullblast is a pretty basic 2D shooter but it is also fast, furious, and fun. We’ve seen this type of game before and Fullblast isn’t out to reinvent the wheel. Instead, it offers up some shooting fun and is a game you’ll want to play in small doses.

Each level of Fullblast is a little longer than what you would expect. Once you defeat a level and unlock another, you can feel free to stop for awhile if you want. The game saves the level you defeated and you can pick up the next level whenever you want. Meanwhile, the game’s graphics look good, but they could be a little better.

There isn’t much variety in the backgrounds in this game. Many of the levels have the same backgrounds over and over with some minor adjusts to keep things interesting. There is a ton of variety in the enemies though! Wow. The enemies in this game are pretty cool.

I really like this game’s graphics and gameplay. The controls work well and I think just about anyone could play this game.

I did run into one glitch where a boss disappeared and the level kept scrolling. I had to restart that level, but generally the game runs well on the Nintendo Switch.

If you just want to go shoot some aliens, than Fullblast might be the game for you.

Fullblast gets a 7.0 out of 10. Its a fun arcade shooter for the Nintendo Switch!
