Silent Hope is a action rpg with random dungeons that recently came out for the Nintendo Switch. Is it a fun game? Here is our review of Silent Hope!

Silent Hope stars seven heroes who save a princess and then help her out by diving into an abyss in hopes of finding her father, the king. The game has a neat opening cutscene but after that, its much more focused on its unique gameplay than story. That said, we wish the princess would shut up. Thankfully you can turn her voice off but will still have to see her talk in subtitles. The gameplay is definitely better than the story or annoying princess dialogue.

In Silent Hope, you’ll be able to switch to any of the seven heroes before diving into the abyss. The dungeons in the abyss are randomly generated so they’ll likely be different each time you enter them. There is a lot of enemy variety in this game too. Each of the heroes has a different type of weapon, with the archer and caster being the best way to fight if you want to take less damage. You’ll be able to keep your level-up progress and items from each trip into the dungeon, but unless you get to a half way point, you’ll have to go back to the beginning of the dungeon each time.

There is also a mini-hub area before you dive into the abyss. There you’ll see the princess and there are small “shops” where you can build materials, weapons, farm food, and take milk and eggs from animals. Though all of that isn’t automatic, it takes time for most of the activities but going into the dungeon usually kills some time. The gameplay loop of Silent Hope is very addictive. The game has pretty cute graphics too.

The characters of Silent Hope have a cartoon cel-shaded look to them. Meanwhile, the overworld and the abyss dungeons are a bit more realistic looking. There isn’t too much dungeon variety in the game but the graphics are pretty cute, especially the characters and enemies. The game’s music is not bad, though as noted earlier, the princess will not shut up and you’ll want to turn her voice off as soon as possible. Overall, Silent Hope is a fun game.

Silent Hope is a fun dungeon crawler with random dungeons that will surprise and delight you. Its a really fun and addictive game. If you’re looking for a new dungeon crawler to dive into then Silent Hope is well worth checking out.

A digital code was provided for this review. Silent Hope is available for the Nintendo Switch right now.
