Moonstone Island is a new sim/rpg coming to the Nintendo Switch this week. Is it worth checking out? Here is our review of Moonstone Island for the Nintendo Switch!

Moonstone Island is sim/rpg thats coming to the Nintendo Switch. The story is about a young Alchemist moving to a new town on a floating island. He’s moved out his parent’s home and determined to make it on his own. He meets the local residents and starts building up his new life.

The game is one part life sim and one part rpg. As the Alchemist, you’ll get a tent and be able to decorate how you want. You can explore the island and make new ways, such as flying broom, to leave the current island and go visit other islands. The game has a pretty addictive crafting system. There is so much to build and do with that alone. You can also take the time to talk to the local residents and even date/romance one of them (boy or girl) if you want. Yes, you can get married too!

Of course, there’s also the rpg element of the game. You’ll be recruiting spirits that you meet in battle and they’ll help you out. The game has a little Pokémon in it, but the battle system is a turn-based card affair thats pretty easy to figure out. The spirits will level up and grow as you battle them and feed them. You can also build a barn where you can hold some in reserve and sometimes get crafting materials from them. The sim and rpg elements compliment each other very well. The game’s exploration is very good. The game has very nice graphics!

Moonstone Island has very cute, colorful graphics. The game’s camera could be a little bit closer but otherwise, its a fantastic looking game. We did notice occasional framerate stutters when there were a lot of objects but nothing that hurts the game. Overall, Moonstone Island is a super addictive and really fun game.

If you like sims and rpgs, then Moonstone Island should be on your must play list. This game is very addictive and a lot of fun. Now you’ll have to excuse us, we have to get back to the island!

Thank you to Raw Fury for providing a digital code for this review. Moonstone Island releases for the Nintendo Switch on June 19th, 2024.
