Adventure games are such a great genre and we’ve had some excellent ones lately. Is Lil’ Guardsman for the Nintendo Switch another one you should check out? Here is our review!
Lil’ Guardsman is an Adventure game where you play as Lil’, a young girl who has to start doing her father’s job in the Guard’s shed. The shed is the place that either lets people into the town or tells them to go away. Lil’ Guardsman is a fantasy game and so you’ll see goblins, witches, vampires, and more come to the shed. You’ll be in charge of figuring out who should come into the shed and who shouldn’t. The decisions that you make will affect the direction the story takes. Some of the decisions will be small and others will be huge and make major changes to the story. This game has an interesting story and more than that, it has funny dialogue. It doesn’t take itself seriously at all.
The gameplay in Lil’ Guardsman is very connected to the story. This is an Adventure game, so you play the game by interacting with characters and objects. The objects in the Guard’s shed will help you determine who you should let in and who you shouldn’t. You can only do three things per person: talk to them, use an object on them, and or use the phone to call for help. There’s a bit of strategy to what you do and you can very easily mess up. Thankfully, you can go back in time and try again!
As for the game’s controls, there is some touchscreen controls for objects and your inventory. Unfortunately you can’t point and click where Lil’ goes or navigate through conversations. You’ll be better off just using the analog controls because you can do everything with them. It would’ve been nice to have a complete point and click experience for this game. Even so, Lil Guadsman is a really fun game. If you like Adventure games with a lot of humor, then you should enjoy this game. It even has really cute graphics!
Lil’ Guardsman has cute, cartoon-like graphics. All of the characters are well designed and animated. The voice acting in the game is very good too!
If you love Adventure games with humor, then you’ll want to check out Lil’ Guardsman. The main character is funny and charming, along with all the other characters too. The cartoon-like graphics add to the game’s charm. Yes, we wish the game was more of a point and click experience, but overall, Lil’ Guardsman is a fun game and a must play for Adventure genre fans.
