Opinionated Logan: Disney Art Academy

My son Logan loves playing video games, and often what I get in for review are often too violent or mature rated for his age. However, generally when we get titles from Nintendo, they are things that he gets to play, and lately, we have been tapping him for his opinion. This week, Logan has been busy – or not busy as you will see – playing Disney Art Academy. His thoughts are below. When he saw the case, the…

More Thoughts From Me #18: Will Sony and/or Microsoft Win E3?

Last year, I was unimpressed by Sony and Microsoft. They didn’t have much to show for their new systems and yet, many people were pleased with them, especially Sony. You would think with Nintendo showing only one game this year, that it would be an easy win for Sony and Microsoft this year. I have my doubts. I also have my hopes for them! Some people try to act like E3 isn’t a competition. They say “gamers” are the real…

More Thoughts From Me Special Edition #2: Will This Be Nintendo’s Worst E3?

Nintendo announced their E3 plans today and…it was not what I was hoping for. And so I ask, along with everyone else, what is Nintendo doing? Could this be their worst E3 ever? Nintendo’s plans for E3 include….Zelda Wii U and nothing else. Nintendo will be focusing on the one game only and there will be no Digital Event this year. There is only going to be a Treehouse Live on Tuesday, June 14th and the Treehouse will focus on…

Pocket Card Jockey Demo Impressions

What do you get when you mix horse racing with Solitare? The answer is, of course, Pocket Card Jockey for the 3DS. Nintendo released a demo for this unique game this week and I tried it out. More Thoughts From Me #15: Graphics Not Included

Before there was graphics, there was the Text Adventure. One part reading, one part imagination, text adventures are just a novelty now but they are a really important part of gaming history. Let me take you on a trip back in time… Once a upon a time, there were no fancy graphics (actually, there were no graphics at all). There wasn’t even gameplay as we know it now. There were no video game consoles; only the PC. I wasn’t alive…
