Nintendo LABO has been a fairly successful franchise for Nintendo ever since it was announced and released in 2018. From toy houses to fishing equipment, and now even to VR, Nintendo has taken the LABO idea, thrown in a bit of quality cardboard, and created something that seems really dumb, but provides hours of enjoyment!

There are few games in the video game marketplace that pack as much charm as Yoshi titles, and with each subsequent release, Nintendo pushes the boundaries just a little bit further. I thought they had hit the top when they launch Yoshi's Wooly World; how could that creativity and cuteness be topped! I know how: Yoshi's Crafted World, an all ages accessible title that will be enjoyed by everyone. But just because we think it could have universal appeal, doesn’t mean it will. Does Yoshi’s Crafted World hold up to the green dinosaurs high bar of expectations? ...

The Nintendo 3DS, long thought dead by critics of the platform, continues to amaze the video game world with continued - albeit slowing - sales and new experiences. Enter Kirby’s Extra Epic Yarn, a remake of the Nintendo Wii game of a similar name, which brings to 2019 the same charm the original had in spades. The LEGO Movie 2 was a fantastic experience when I went and saw it in theatres, and whenever there is a great cinema experience, there are high hopes for the LEGO game that spins off from that. LEGO titles over the last number of years have really been hit-and-miss, so jumping into any LEGO experience always has the potential for disappointment. The LEGO Movie 2 Videogame takes a much different route than other LEGO games based on movies, and while this isn't all bad, we felt the game ultimately shipped a few weeks - potentially months? - too early. A comic-styled indie puzzle game, Valiant Hearts: The Great War follows four characters who find themselves caught up in the middle of the First World War. The game is inspired by real events that occurred in Europe betweeen 1914 and 1918 as well as actual letters that were sent during the war. Initially released in 2014, the Nintendo Switch port hit the shelves last November. Steel your nerves and get ready for all of the feels, as Valiant Hearts promises to be one seriously emotional experience!

Finally, the wildly popular space-shooter roguelike Everspace has made its way to the Nintendo Switch! Originally released in May 2017, Everspace is a beautifully minimalistic roguelike adventure game. Produced and developed by veteran indie developer ROCKFISH Games, Everspace utilizes the Unreal Engine 4 and has snagged many awards since its initial release. It was released for the Nintendo Switch late last year, and we have eagerly waiting to get our hands on it ever since. I can't wait to see how this port fairs on the Switch, so let's get right to it!

Sphinx and the Cursed Mummy is a game heavily inspired by Egyptian lore, from its story to its setting and characters. Mythology is a good source for video games, though it doesn't always result in a good game. Is Sphinx and the Cursed Mummy good, OK, or just plain bad?
