More Thoughts From Me #9: Virtual Reality Will Never Work

Virtual Reality will never work! Want to hear my totally uninformed opinion of current day VR? Read on! Virtual Reality is just a gimmick. There I said it. I know I’ll make some people upset with this opinion. There are people who love VR and want it to work. For some reason. I just do not get why. Back in the 90s, I went to a car show and tested out a virtual reality simulator. I thought it was neat,…

Solve a Puzzle Or Two: Word Puzzles By POWGI Will Arrive Soon on 3DS

My father and I love word puzzle games. One of the best developers of word games on the 3DS (and Wii U) is Lightwood Games. I’ve enjoyed their other games for the systems and they have another one coming soon. The new game is called Word Puzzles By POWGI. Let me tell you about it.   Word Puzzles by POWGI will be coming to the 3DS (and Wii U) eshops on February 11th in North America. The game is already…

The Legend of Zelda: Tri Force Heroes Review

Apparently, lumping together Zelda and the 3DS is not always going to produce an epic adventure like The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past. Tri Force Heroes might use the same graphical approach, but the game could not be any more different. Despite what many reviewers are saying online, I really, REALLY enjoyed my time with Tri Force Heroes, both in single player and multiplayer. Read on to find out more!

Guitar Hero Live Review

Just on the heels of Rock Band, Activision launched their own music game. Unlike the Harmonix giant, Activision completely changed up the way we thought a Guitar Hero should play, making Guitar Hero Live a completely different experience, something you will have never played before. While this new design comes with its fair share of advantages, we cannot help but look to the age old saying: If it ain't broken, don't fix it. While Guitar Hero Live does things I like, I keep wanting to go back to the old school, five button system. Perhaps I'm stuck in the ...

Rock Band 4 Review

It has been a while since Rock Band 3 in 2010, and although Harmonix slowly added tracks for their flag ship title for years following, Rock Band, and largely the music genre as well, fell away into obscurity. When Rock Band 4 was announced, I could not make myself get excited. Sure, a new Rock Band sounded nice, but lets face it, it is just Rock Band. We have been give the standard formula from Harmonix many, many times! How different could Rock Band 4 really be? After playing over 100 hours of Rock Band 4, I can say that jumping on this new title is a ...

Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer Review

When Animal Crossing: New Leaf came out, Animal Crossing fans were losing their minds over how good the game was. And to their credit, it was good. Great in fact! So when Nintendo announced a spin off title that involved decorating the homes of our favorite characters, fans again voiced their excitement. I enjoy Animal Crossing, and while I enjoyed New Leaf, Happy Home Designer had me incredibly skeptical.

Nintendo Summer Event: Blastball

I think everyone understands that Nintendo's E3 event was a little disappointing. I also believe that everyone thinks Nintendo is holding on to the really good announcements for the NX. After attending the Nintendo Summer Event in Toronto, Ontario this week, I've realized that some games need to be played to be appreciated. Blastball was one of those titles.

Dr. Mario: Miracle Cure Review

Mario and Luigi consolidate their practice and invent a cure all drug that’ll lure you out of your money like a bulk supply of “baby aspirin”. Is the $9 for another iteration of the Dr. Mario franchise a tough pill to swallow? Puns aside, it’s a slightly refreshing take on Dr. Mario:Miracle Cure.

Safari Spirit Review

Like most slot games, Safari Spirit is themed around, well, the African safari. Brightly colored graphics spin and stop with the press of a button, with up to 50 lines to win with.
