More Thoughts From Me #251: Winter in Animal Crossing

Winter is here! Well technically its still Fall but where I’m at in the world, it already feels like winter. And it is absolutely winter in Animal Crossing New Horizons. It is so much better than the real winter too. Let me tell you about it!

In Animal Crossing New Horizons, winter is here! What does that mean?

Snow is everywhere in New Horizons now. The islands are completely covered, from the ground to fences and trees.

Even the animals are bundled up in winter hats and clothing.

Ables also has more winter clothing available for you to buy.

I covered some of what winter brings in a previous article for GamesReviews.com. You should check that one out.
But I have to mention building snowmen and collecting snowflakes!

In Animal Crossing New Leaf, you could build several types of snowpeople. However in New Horizons, there’s only one option: the Snowboy.

That Snowboy does give you some cool things though. IF you build a good one. I have built a few good ones and some bad ones too.

The good ones will give you a recipe and a large snowflake. You can get one large snowflake a day from them until they melt away. The bad ones just give you sarcasm. Too bad we can’t destroy them like we could in the first game…

Winter isn’t just about the snowboys and snowflakes though.

Today something else was added!

Look for pine trees with Christmas lights on them. When you find them, shake them. Keep shaking them. Ornaments, more than one, will fall from those trees.

You can use these ornaments to craft new Christmas items. From what I know of them, some of them are pretty amazing.

To find recipes for the Christmas items and other snowflake items, you will have to be on the look for balloons that fly overhead. Though Isabelle may give you that Ornament wreath recipe. She gave it to me, though I am one of her favorites. Sometimes.

Winter in Animal Crossing New Horizons, overall, is pretty fun.

And we haven’t even gotten to Toy Day yet!
