Chained Echoes Nintendo Switch Review

If you read our review-in-progress of Chained Echoes, then you already know how impressed we are by Chained Echoes. What about our final review though? What score would we give this game? Let’s find out in our full review of Chained Echoes for the Nintendo Switch!

Chained Echoes is an epic 2D rpg set in a kingdom once torn apart by war and now trying to put itself back together. Of course, outside forces want to stop that. Our heroes must go out into the world to find out whats going on. The storyline is just as complex and interesting as classics like Final Fantasy 6. The cast of characters are all iconic and interesting. Chained Echoes has an excellent storyline.

The gameplay in Chained Echoes, meanwhile, feels like an SNES jrpg, turn-based battles for the win, mixed with modern day ideas like saving anywhere and changing characters in and out of battle. The world is pretty open too and there is so much to do. This is not a small game.

If you’re a fan of classic rpgs, then you’ll love Chained Echoes. Its so well done. It is not an easy game though. You’ll have to level up a lot and upgrade your weapons/armor a lot too. Chained Echoes does give you some tutorials to help out but once you get going, it doesn’t hold your hand. This would not be a great rpg for beginners. Hardcore jrpg fans will love it though.

Chained Echoes also has excellent graphics!

Chained Echoes is a 2D rpg with fantastic, highly detailed backgrounds. The characters look great too. The game runs well on the Switch, though there are occasional pauses when the game auto-saves. Otherwise, Chained Echoes looks and plays great.

It also has a good soundtrack. Honestly, we could say so many more good things about Chained Echoes. It’s a fantastic game!

With many hours of gameplay, a great battle system, a wonderful storyline, and fantastic graphics, Chained Echoes is a can’t miss experience for jrpg fans. Its one of the best rpgs on the Nintendo Switch. We highly recommend this game!
