More Thoughts From Me #248: You May Say I’m A Dreamer…
I’ve talked about Dreams for the PS4 before. I played the beta. And I eventually played the demo too. However, now, I finally have the full game. Here are my thoughts on Dreams for the PS4 so far.
Dreams for the Playstation 4 is on sale for $19.99 right now at retail and on the Playstation store. You should go get it! Why? Let me tell you about my experience so far.
I bought Dreams on Friday when it went on sale. I had to. I had been playing the demo and enjoying it a lot. Not only that, but I had been streaming the demo on Twitch and it had been getting the most views of anything I had been streamed so far. So the reason I wanted the whole game was two fold: one because I really enjoyed it and two because I wanted more content to stream on my Twitch.
And you know what: Dreams is awesome. Media Molecule has created an amazing tool. The Dreams community has stepped up to the challenge and created lots of amazing games you can play.
Most of them can’t be called levels because these are full-on games that people are creating.
So why should you buy this game if you have no interest in creating games? Simple. Because you don’t have to create games with Dreams. You can just play the games that other people are creating. There are tons of options. This game is an absolute steal for $19.99. Seriously. If you haven’t bought it yet, go get it.
Not enough people talk about Dreams. And it seems like some people dismiss it like “oh its nothing special” or people are just creating levels like they did in LittleBigPlanet or Mario Maker.
No. People are creating games. And people should talk about Dreams much more than they do. Its a jaw dropping experience.
For instance, there is a game called The Pilgrim. It is the most impressive game I’ve played on Dreams yet. Its by Narvikgutten & Majoneskongen. Please click on the link and go watch that. Its amazing! Wow.
Another great one I played was called Ethan Goes to Work by culosoman. Boy does Ethan ever!
There are other cool games I’ve played too: one that was a racing game where everything seemed normal and then an Earthquake happens, a Space Invaders shooter, a pixel platformer, a game that looks like it was created with clay, and so many more. I think I’ve only scratched the surface of Dreams.
Have you played Dreams for PS4? What’s your favorite game that you’ve played so far?
More Thoughts From Me is an opinion column. The thoughts expressed here are mine and mine alone. Can’t wait to play more of this game!
