Flight Simulator Now Available on Xbox Series X / Series S

One of the most impressive games of last year drops today on Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S and I couldn’t be more excited. When Xbox Canada reached out with a review opportunity last year for Flight Simulator on PC, I was really bummed out since my PC is straight out of 2015, and was never going to run that gorgeous game. Fast forward to today, and I’ll get that wish, with Flight Simulator on Xbox, available on Game Pass.

One of things that has intrigued me the past little while is how mainstream Flight Simulator seems to be. Another personal favourite simulation franchise – Farming Simulator – has been deemed boring and uninteresting by many, yet it has way more in-game content than Flight Simulator in terms of what you can do, and the variety of the chores that need to be done on the farm. So what makes Flight Simulator so mainstream? Two things really – the ability to literally fly anywhere, taking in views of your own city, your hometown, or your favourite destination. It’s definitely that, but it’s also the drop dead gorgeous graphics, unparalleled in the world of simulation titles.

Where will I fly first? That’s an easy question for me to answer. I’ll be taking to the skies from Pearson International Airport in Toronto, Ontario, and setting my course due south to fly to beautiful Orlando. I need to check in on my good friend Mickey Mouse. After that, it’s a quick hop down to the Bahamas to fly over Disney’s private island, Castaway Cay!

What do you have in store for your first flight in Microsoft Flight Simulator? Is it your hometown, or perhaps a favourite vacation destination? Or is it somewhere you’ve never been before? Let us know, and get excited because you can hit the skies today on Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S!
