With the Dust Settled, Video Game Fans Need to be Happy

The dust of E3 2021 has settled, and we have had a few days to begin processing all the announcements from this weeks events. While the event has caused console warriors to step up their games on social media, for average, level headed video game fans, last weeks festivities should have us all really excited for the future.

Was a single genre not adequately represented at the event? Whether it was racing titles, RPGs, strategy games, or solid platformers, there was something for everyone at E3 2021. As someone who enjoys all consoles and all genres, here are a few titles I’m really excited for.

Mario + Rabbids – Mario + Rabbids: Kingdom Battle is easily one of the best games available on the Nintendo Switch, and has been consistently in my top 5 Switch games of all time. Based on a theme also used by some game developers like NetEnt, Ubisoft took Nintendo’s assets and created a spectacular title that sold incredibly well, so to see this game come back again is fantastic no-brainer!

Forza Horizon 5 – While I’ve never had the privilege to go to Mexico in person, it looks like Forza Horizon 5 will bring all the natural beauty to our home televisions. Mexico is proving to be a fantastic location with varied environments, allowing us to race through desserts, jungles, along the coast, and more! For casual racing fans, the chance to get play another sprawling Horizon experience is mouth watering. And for the more hardcore racing fans, Microsoft said a new Forza Motorsport is coming too!

Indies, Indies, and more Indies – There wasn’t just one indie at this years show that I wanted to play. There were dozens, including an entire show that was all about indies – 70+ in fact. Indie titles can be the best bang-for-buck titles available on any system, and help small studios make names for themselves. I’m excited for many of these – let’s get playing!
