Terracotta Oasis DLC Launches for Story of Seasons: Pioneers of Olive Town

This morning, Marvelous and XSeed officially launched the latest DLC expansion for Story of Seasons: Pioneers of Olive Town on Nintendo Switch in English speaking regions. The new DLC allows players to explore Terracotta Oasis, which is comprised of a small town square with a fountain and a few stalls, a large pond for fishing, and a few houses for the brand new residents from Story of Seasons on the Nintendo 3DS.

You can check out the new DLC by watching this quick video from Adam’s Nintendo World:

We outlined the brand new update 1.0.5 yesterday, and while that was really exciting, this really is not. Like the last DLC, Windswept Falls, Terracotta Oasis is actually quite bland. With no new forgeable items, no new animals, and really just an open empty space with a few more characters to interact with, it seems like the development team took the easy way out on this DLC. Sure, new marriage candidates from past games is really exciting, but it’s not enough to justify the price I paid for hte expansion pass. At least that is my opinion on the matter.

While some folks go head over heels for new characters, that isn’t the case for everyone. Here’s hoping that the team releases a second wave of paid DLC with much more to do – perhaps new crops, new buildings, and may be even new animals? That would make Story of Seasons: Pioneers of Olive Town the premier Story of Seasons experience. That would keep me playing for a long, long time.
