New Nintendo 2DS XL

The Pikmin franchise has been one of Nintendo's best since the original title released many years ago on the Nintendo Gamecube. Since then, Nintendo has been careful to not over extend the franchise, but only releasing new titles every few years. Until 2017, Pikmin has lived and died on the home entertainment console, never finding its way to the Nintendo 3DS family of system. With the release of Hey! Pikmin, that all changes, as does the game's formula, to make it more appropriate for the handheld device.

The New 2DS XL will launch next week alongside two brand new games to the 3DS Family of systems: Miitopia and Hey! Pikmin. We've only had our New 2DS XL for a few days now, but are ready to tell you what we think of Nintendo's latest hardware device. Many expected Nintendo to kill of the 3DS entirely and focus its efforts on the Nintendo Switch, but with games releasing well into 2018 - including new Pokémon and Mario titles - it looks like the 3DS and related systems are here to stay for the time being. The 3DS family is long from dead, and although many out on the Internet are thinking it's curtains for one of Nintendo's most successful consoles, Nintendo continues to support the platform with new games, and yes, even a new system that will be out this month. Nintendo generally always has a good pulse on what the audience thinks about their products, and often will adjust course to meet those high expectations. I strongly feel like that is why we got the Nintendo Switch when we did, and also the reason why Nintendo continues to support the 2DS and 3DS despite the Switch beginning to encroach on that on-the-go Nintendo territory. We know all about the Switch and what support it has, but what about the 3DS. Well, for those fans, things are looking incredibly bright.
