Last week, Nintendo released Super Mario Maker 2, the sequel to the sensational course-creation game in the Super Mario universe. Super Mario Maker 2, like its predecessor, allows players to build their very own Super Mario levels using a plethora of the core elements from 5 different Super Mario game styles. As there are so many elements to choose from that it can be quite overwhelming for new Makers, we’ve broken down a list of our 5 favourite elements to make the most out of your courses!

As a huge fan of the original Mario Maker title on Nintendo Wii U and Nintendo 3DS, I was incredibly excited when Nintendo announced that Mario Maker 2 would be heading to the Nintendo Switch this June. Despite my excitement, however, I also had a few questions I needed answering, most notably, "How much more can they really add to this experience?" Yesterday's Nintendo Direct answered that 10 times over, and then some! Let's dive in!

If you find a free moment, go to YouTube and search Super Mario Maker. You are bound to get stuck in that "just one more video" cycle as you look through some of the amazing levels that have been uploaded so far. This week, Nintendo in Japan announced on Twitter that over one million Super Mario Maker levels have been uploaded for others to play. This is an amazing statistic.
