LEGO Ninjago

Over the past six months or so, we've looked at a number of different LEGO sets courtesy of the LEGO company and the pockets of GamesReviews.com. We've obviously never had the opportunity to review absoluetely everything, but you can browse all of what LEGO has to offer by visiting their online Shop! Below are a number of sets we reviewed this year on the website; feel free to click through to our individual reviews. You will notice a heavy focus on LEGO Ninjago, courtesy of this years blockbuster movie and video game from Warner Bros.

LEGO games have been around for a long time, and have been released on almost every modern video game system imaginable, from the iPhone to the Xbox One, and everything in between. When the Nintendo Switch launched in March of 2017, everyone knew it would be the perfect system for Travelers Tales LEGO game, and so far, they haven't disappointed with the release of LEGO Worlds, and now, the LEGO Ninjago Movie Video Game. LEGO Ninjago is much like previous LEGO licenced titles, but one major twist: improved combat that suites a Ninja lifestyle!

Today is a good day if you are a fan of Ninjago or LEGO in general as both the LEGO Ninjago Movie and the LEGO Ninjago Movie Game launch for the masses. First things first, based on one of our other writers who had the pleasure of sneaking a screening of the movie ahead of launch, it is a fantastically fun experience throughout, definitely worth your time, young or old. But the real excitement for the majority of us at the website is the launch of the game, available today on Xbox One, PS4, and Nintendo Switch.

If you've been a lifelong LEGO fan such as myself, you'll know that many LEGO Themes have come and gone. Some popped up around specific movies or events, such as the LEGO Harry Potter sets which launched between 2001 and 2011, or those related to the Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit movies. However, these themes are not LEGO creations, but rather areas of the industry were LEGO flexed their financial muscles, and locked down a lucrative contract. The unique LEGO Minifigure series releases have always been intriguing to me. While I am not the biggest fan of the regular minifigure collections, I've thoroughly enjoyed collecting two LEGO Simpsons series' and the LEGO Batman Movie series. Beginning today - August 1st - Ninjago fans can finally get their hands on a set of minifigures unique to the LEGO Ninjago universe.

The LEGO Ninjago Movie Video Game comes out in September. Here is a new trailer showing off the epic fighting moves, weapons, and humor of the game! Lego Marvel 2 is coming to the multiple systems later this year. Lego Worlds is coming to the Switch this year too. So why not another Lego game?
