HITMAN World of Assassination Review
A Killer Comeback
IO Interactive’s HITMAN World of Assassination makes its calculated leap to the Nintendo Switch 2 and for the first time, it does so natively rather than through cloud streaming. Which results in a deeply satisfying stealth sandbox experience that surprisingly holds up on Nintendo’s portable powerhouse.
Classic HITMAN, Fully Intact a Sharper Suit and Smoother Silhouettes Across the World
HITMAN Nintendo Switch 2 version includes the entire World of Assassination trilogy (HITMAN 1–3) in one package. Agent 47’s globetrotting murder spree from the opulent halls of Dubai to the muddy vineyards of Mendoza and it feels just as tense and rewarding as ever. Core gameplay loop is preserved: gather intel, exploit opportunities, disguise yourself, and execute targets with creativity and precision.
Thanks to the Switch 2’s upgraded hardware, load times are fast, and the game runs at a consistent 60 FPS at 1080p docked and 720p handheld. Missions are dense and replayable, and the updated Contracts and Freelancer modes bring tons of value for longtime fans and newcomers.
A Smooth Operator
IOI has done an impressive job optimizing the control scheme for the Switch 2. Improved Joy-Con precision and feedback make sneaking, aiming, and blending into crowds feel more tactile and responsive than the previous cloud version on Switch ever could.
While it doesn’t quite hit the same ultra-high settings seen on PS5 or Xbox Series X, the textures, lighting, and crowd density are surprisingly close. Minor texture pop-ins and occasional AI hiccups can occur, but they’re rare and don’t derail the experience on the Nintendo Switch 2
Still Cold, Still Perfect
Agent 47’s cold, clinical tone of the series is faithfully preserved. Music and the game’s sharp audio design reinforce the tension of stalking your prey. The voice acting, particularly David Bateson’s iconic delivery as Agent 47, remains top tier.
Menus and user interface are well-optimized for handheld and docked play, with easy-to-read mission briefings and an intuitive map interface.
New Assassin Addons for Nintendo Switch 2
Gyro aiming support: A nice optional touch for handheld mode. Quick resume: Jump between contracts without long waits.
HITMAN World of Assassination on Nintendo Switch 2 is a masterclass in stealth design brought to a handheld system without major compromise. IOI’s dedication to preserving gameplay integrity while optimizing for new hardware pays off. Whether you’re a veteran assassin or a first-time killer, this is a must-play title on Switch 2.
Agent 47 is the perfect assassin for the world of Nintendo. For fans of stealth, sandbox games, and anyone who wants a console-quality assassination sim on the go this one is for you.
