Pokémon Crimson Invasion Bringing New Cards to Pokémon Sun and Moon

The Pokémon Company has been working hard on keeping Pokémon fans busy with new cards almost bi-monthly, and as a big fan myself, I couldn’t be more excited about that. Their latest release – Crimson Invasion – brings brand new cards to the Pokémon Sun and Pokémon Moon lineup, with some fantastic new full art cards! But is yet another Pokémon expansion worth your time, we think so, and find out why below!

Here is a bit more detail from the Pokémon Company on the Sun & Moon Crimson Invasion Expansion:

Crimson Chaos Across Alola! The mysterious Ultra Beasts have arrived, invading the Alola region as crimson-tinged Pokémon-GX and other allies of Alola defend the islands-or will the Ultra Beasts take control? Find out when you battle for the prize with the Pokémon TCG: Sun & Moon — Crimson Invasion expansion!

The new expansion from The Pokémon Company includes over 110 cards, including 8 all new GX cards, 9 new trainer cards, 1 special energy card, and of course 2 Ultra Beasts: Guzzlord-GX and Nihilego-GX! Although we haven’t jumped into the two starter decks that have launched alongside this expansion, we did rip into 18 booster packs. The pulls throughout were OK for us: not great, but not terrible either. We were able to grab these two cards however, which got me really excited as they are beautiful to look at, and both of which are ultra rare!

Looking at the list of cards in the set, as well as the new things brought to the Sun and Moon universe, it is obvious again that the Pokémon Company is working hard to cater to fans. This wasn’t rolled out as a half project to make a quick buck, but was throughout and planned with precision, so that all the cards would meld well into the current Sun and Moon lineup. I’ve mixed a few of the new trainer cards into my other decks to see how they would play, and they do new and interesting things without distorting the game play too much. We will break down these new cards later when we review the themed decks provided to us by the Pokémon Company.

If you are a fan of the Pokémon Trading Card Game, grabbing this expansion is a no brainer. The artwork across all the cards is phenomenal, and with over 10 new cards introduced in this set alone, there is a reason to keep buying those packs to find those elusive cards.
