Blizzard Trademarks Warlords of Draenor

World of Warcraft Logo

Blizzard has filed a trademark for Warlords of Draenor, according to a post on MMO Champion. If this turns out to be an actual game, it more than likely is another expansion for World of Warcraft (Draenor is the orc’s homeland). Adding further proof to this rumor is the fact warlordsofdraenor.com was registered over a month ago. However, this new domain comes with a couple of problems. For one, it was purchased on Go Daddy, which is not a place major businesses typically go to in order to buy up websites. The other issue is that Blizzard hasn’t been known to create sites for the World of Warcraft expansions, so this Draenor page is very questionable, and I wouldn’t be surprised if it turned out to be a hoax.

The trademark is a different story, though. It appears to be legit, and if turns out to be an actual add-on for the mega-popular MMORPG, that means a return to Outland, which first appeared in The Burning Crusade expansion. Outland is what remains of Draenor, and had to be accessed via a Dark Portal. I’m not exactly sure why Blizzard wants to revisit this area, but it could prove to be interesting. Stay tuned for updates.
