Chibi-Robo! Zip Lash Launches Today

 chibi-robo

There is a strong possibility that you have never played a Chibi-Robo game. The franchise is older than you probably think, and has many installments. The last game we looked at for Games Reviews was a Chibi-Robo game that tasked you with taking pictures of real world items to satisfy requirements within the game. Our impressions of that title were not great. However, the newest Chibi-Robo, Zip Lash, holds a lot of promise.

I really enjoyed Chibi-Robo Zip Lash when I played it at a Nintendo of Canada event in Toronto earlier this year. The game had some really interesting platform-puzzle elements that made great use of Chibi-Robo’s plug. Unfortunately, it seems a lot is riding on this latest installment. Rumors have surfaced that the future of Chibi Robo rests on the successful – or failure – of this title.

Here is what Nintendo has to say about it:

Using his signature plug and cord, he can whip enemies, swing over chasms, ricochet shots and grapple to scale walls. By collecting boost balls, his cord can be extended, allowing Chibi-Robo to access previously out-of-reach areas and search for a variety of different collectibles, including many surprising real-world snacks. The game is overflowing with tons of collectibles to find, bosses to battle and hidden areas to discover.

And of course, there is a new amiibo to collect! Will you be picking up Chibi-Robo! Zip Lash? We will hopefully have a full review of Chibi-Robo! Zip Lash up soon on Games Reviews. We also will be publishing another “Opinionated Logan” article where my almost six year old son gets his say on family friendly titles.
