Playstation Classic Announced

Last night, Sony announced that they will be coming out with their own mini console (like the NES and SNES Classic). The Playstation Classic will be a small version of the PS1 and have twenty games built in. Check out the video announcement below, along with more details and my thoughts on the device.

Playstation Classic will be coming out on December 3rd, 2018. It will cost $99 US (CAD$129.99), have twenty games built in, a USB cable, an HDMI cable, and come with two controllers. An AC adapter to power the system has to be bought seperately.

The full twenty games has not been announced yet. Final Fantasy VII, Tekken 3, Wild Arms, Ridge Racer Type 4, and Jumping Flash are the games currently listed for the system.

I think the device looks pretty neat, though it is a bit more expensive than the NES or SNES Classics and not including an AC adapter is just weird.

As for other games that I hope will be included on the device, Metal Gear Solid and at least one of the Resident Evil games has to be on there. Final Fantasy Tactics is another must. I think its going to be pretty hard for them to just pick twenty classic games out of the Playstation 1’s amazing lineup!

I’m not sure if I’ll get one of these systems or not. What about you? Have you already pre-ordered this system?
