Everything from the Playstation Showcase

While absent from this year’s E3, Sony came out swinging in yesterday’s presentation that has some (including myself) wondering…..did they just win E3? There was a ton to digest here from further looks at titles we knew about to a bunch of new announcements and first looks. Without further ado, let’s dive right in.

Death loop was shown….again.

Despite being less than a week away, we got another look at Deathloop, definitely one of the low points of the show as anyone who was going to be in on this game probably already is and didn’t need further convincing.

Marvels Guardians of the Galaxy is open for Preorder

Dropping in a little over a month, they took the opportunity to show us a little more to increase the hype levels for this one. I personally am excited for this one and was happy to see a little more on this game.

Kid A Mnesia Exhibition is a thing that is happening apparently

In one of the more confusing announcements, this “exhibition” is happening as a collaboration between Radiohead and Epic games. Not entirely sure what this is by what was shown, but the first thing that popped in my head was….shouldn’t this just be a Fortnite concert event?

Bloodhunt coming to PS5

As a fan of Vampire: The Masquerade book series I am always excited to see something come from the source material. This one was already shown off for PC previously, so the Sony partnership appears to be a new development. This bloody battle royale is set to hit on PS5 later this year, no word on cross-play compatibility with PC as of yet.

Gran Turismo gets a release date…finally.

A game that was originally set to come out years ago for PS4 was finally given a date, within the very crowded spring 2022. March 4th to be specific. Say what you want about GT…but this game is a looker for sure.

Ghostwire: Tokyo gets a new trailer.

While the game was originally set to release this year it was already delayed to 2022. While we didn’t get any further news on that, there was a spiffy new trailer to look at. The last time I saw this game I was extremely disappointed with how it looked. This time around it seems like it’s much further along than last time. Give it the extra time it needs to cook it, I’m still excited.

Tchia is announced and looks fantastic.

Tchia seems to be a game where you set out on an adventure in the high seas while being able to “possess” animals to help along the way and overcome obstacles. Very much got a Moana and Maui meets Wind Waker vibes from this one. Looks extremely cool, don’t sleep on this one.

GTA V is going to compete with Skyrim for the most platforms you can play on.

Rockstar wanted to remind us that the next-gen versions of GTA V and GTA online are still coming but in March 2022 instead of Nov 11th.

Alan Wake is remastered and coming to PS5

While we already knew this news as it was announced by Epic a few days ago, the Xbox cult classic was highlighted at the presentation. With an October 5th release date, this one is not one to miss. I can’t wait to revisit.

Limited exclusive Forspoken coming Spring 2022

Listen, I told you Spring was crowded already earlier, yet while no specific date this Square Enix looker of a game features a young woman from modern times being thrust into basically Lord of the Rings is coming in that same timeframe.

Rainbow Six: Quarantine, I mean Rainbow Six: Extraction is coming in January.

The twice-delayed and once renamed Rainbow Six: Extraction was shown again with no mention of a delay again, which has got to be good news for the team. They highlighted a new trailer during the showcase.

Uncharted: A Thief’s End and The Lost Legacy get Remastered and brought to PC

The latest in the string of PS exclusives coming to PC, Uncharted: A Thief’s End, and The Lost Legacy are being remastered and bundled together as The Legacy of Thieves collection, coming to PS5 and PC in early 2022.

Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic remake comes to PlayStation 5

In an announcement the gaming world has been waiting for, the 2003 smash hit is finally being remade and it’s coming to PS5 first?!? Not much was shown….but it’s enough to get folks excited.

Insomniac announces WOLVERINE!

In one of the biggest surprises, A teaser for Insomniac games helmed Wolverine title is coming to PS5. With how well they have done with the Spider-Man series and I am beyond excited for this one. Now we just need to know the approach…how bloody will this get? Will it be an M-rated game? We don’t know anything beyond this trailer yet….

Spider-Man 2 announced

Because Insomniac apparently doesn’t sleep, they also announced the sequel to Spider-Man. In this title which is said to still be single-player focused will have both Peter Parker and Miles Morales team up to take on Venom and based on the accent of the voiceover I’m guessing Kraven the Hunter. While not out till 2023…again I am beyond excited.

Finally official: God of War Ragnarok is shown

We finally get our first look at the teased God of War follow-up. In this trailer we see that there is still much tension between Kratos and his son (who has grown), Thor is present as we knew would be coming. This looks like another great bloody, stomping, bashing good time.
