Dinosaurs a Possibility for Battlefield 4

dinosaurs - Battlefield 4

The idea of having dinosaurs in Battlefield 3 was both slightly confusing and endlessly entertaining. In a serious tactical shooter, just  why would you want prehistoric creatures running around? Of course, DICE picked up on the chatter and started adding references to the game itself, via DLC.

Dinosaurs were never added to Battlefield 3, but they sure as hell could come to Battlefield 4. According to a story put forward by YouTube user Drift0r, DICE and EA are more than aware of the fact that adding a T-Rex here and there could add a whole new factor to their game, and that people would buy it just to shoot a triceratops square in the face with a close-quarters shotgun.

Drift0r apparently brought up the possibility of dinosaurs at a private BF4 session in LA at E3. The session was made up of a variety of YouTubers and pro-gamers who were supposed to make suggestions about the game, although no devs were present. The PR person that was asked instantly closed up. They didn’t want to talk about Dinosaurs at all.

This resulted in a long session of nagging about dinosaurs. The PR person was adamant. They were not allowed to talk about it. At all. They’ve heard it, they appreciate it, but the YouTubers wouldn’t be getting any information about it. Questions persisted.

In the end, after becoming more and more frustrated, the PR person accidentally broke a little too much information. At the end of that week, that PR person had to compile a report on the popularity of dinosaurs for the Battlefield franchise. That might seem like very little – it IS very little – but it means EA were taking action towards adding the mode to the game.

Now, I know for a fact that the majority of people would be surprised by how much PR people make a note of from message boards and comment sections, so it might just be a drop compared to the sea of information on their files. Even so, that there’s a “Dinosaur File” somewhere at DICE should be good news for all those awaiting the opportunity to knife a pterodactyl.
