Rare Replay: Worth Every Dollar

The dollar per game price tag is not something you ever see on Xbox One or PS4. In fact, you rarely see that price tag on any gaming system. Paying a dollar for a game is mobile stuff! Or at least it was, until Rare and Microsoft launched Rare Replay last week. 30 Games, 30 Dollars.

Rare Replay brings all of Rare’s previous titles to the Xbox One – minus titles that couldn’t be ported because of licencing issues, for example, Donkey Kong 64. While every game doesn’t translate well to the 21st century, there is still a lot of fun to be had with this collection. For some, it will be diving into the games of the 80s and 90s. For others, their experiences with Rare replay lie in the N64 era. And for even younger Rare fans, their first experiences were with Xbox 360 titles.

Basically, there is something here for everyone. Arcade games, platforming games, racing games and shooting games. You can play as angry and drunk Conker, ditsy Banjo or the verbally abusive Kazooie. You can shoot people as a badass women, or fly around as a spaceman collecting parts of a rocket ship. There is literally a little bit of everything, which means this game has a broader appeal.

Here are a list of the 30 games available in the Rare Compilation.

Going forward, keep checking the news space for articles on specific games in this compilation. Some of them we are loving for a second time, while others just don’t live up to the expectations. Which Rare titles are you looking forward to playing?
