Is Lightning Coming to Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD?
A page on the Square Enix website has people asking whether Final Fantasy XIII’s Lightning might just end up making a cameo appearance in the newly remastered Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD.
The Final Fantasy Go There page (which seems like a 30 Rock joke, I know) describes several of the crossovers coming to upcoming Final Fantasy titles. Already mentioned are Lightning Returns and Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn, both of which have bonus cameo costumes.
The final picture shows Final Fantasy X/X-2, with a “coming soon” logo beneath it. This might mean a number of things. Either Lightning is literally making an appearance, perhaps in that new 30 minute long scenario, or maybe Yuna and Co will get a new costume sphere in Final Fantasy X-2. It might be even less than that, having one of the NPCs have Lightning’s model, or having a sword on the wall (not unlike Cloud’s mention in Final Fantasy IX).
In other words, it’s not quite time to get morally outraged at the idea just yet.
Square also released some new screenshots of the Miqo’te costume from Lightning Returns. The costume also comes with a provocative victory pose and some Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn style sound effects.
Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD will be available for purchase later this year, so expect news on this to come out sooner rather than later.
