More Thoughts From Me #173: What if Sony Was At E3 2019?

Sony isn’t at E3 this year. What does that mean? It means that there will be no conference from Sony nor any Playstation exclusive games shown. We won’t see Sony’s next PlayStation system at E3 either. This is pretty disappointing. But what if Sony was at E3 this year? What would they show?

This year Sony has decided to do an E3 State of Play instead of a conference. The Nintendo fans groan and say Sony are copying Nintendo’s E3 Nintendo Direct. The Sony fans, on the other hand, are pretty excited and hope that a State of Play video will be better than that Playstation 2018 conference…

The E3 State of Play starts. The first thing we see is the Final Fantasy 7 Remake. This is a bigger trailer, more gameplay, and some story revealed. We get a launch date! 2019. “Demo Available Now.”

How can you top that?

Next up is a new Death Stranding trailer. At the end of it, it says “Demo Available Now.”

Last of Us Part 2 is shown off next. December 2019 launch date.

Then we get some new Playstation exclusive indies shown off, then some cool third party games, and another surprise game: a new Ratchet and Clank game! 2020.

The new Avengers game is shown, Kingdom Hearts 3 DLC, and many more cool unexpected announcements.

Playstation is totally owning E3. After the disappointment of Microsoft, gamers needed this. And of course, the next day, Nintendo is going to disappoint too.

The State of Play is about to end and…Sony reveals the Playstation 5. Winter 2020. Fully backward compatibl. A launch day game is shown off: a very cool looking first person shooter. New IP. Sci-fi and fantasy mixed together.

Thats the end of the State of Play! But Playstation has more to show. Next up is their verison of Treehouse Live.

So didn’t expect that huh? Playstation at E3 surprisesĀ and excites, Microsoft lets us down and so does Nintendo.

The truth is that…Playstation won’t be at E3 this year. No PS5 reveal yet!

And Microsoft and Nintendo…well, time will tell whether or not they have a good E3 2019.

What do you think? Will Microsoft “win” E3 this year? Will Nintendo? Give us all your best (or worst) E3 2019 predications in the comments!

Next week: At least three More Thoughts From Me special editions: one about Microsoft, one about Square, and one about Nintendo. I may or may not do a “who won” special edition. Oh and if they show Animal Crossing and I’m ultra excited about it, I may just do a special edition on that. Also, if they don’t show it, I may do a rant about it! See ya next week.

More Thoughts From Me is an opinion column. The thoughts expressed here are mine and mine alone. I really wish Sony was going to be at E3 2019. I’ll miss them!
