Bioshock Infinite Remains on top in UK, Despite Slowing Sales

Bioshock Infinite, the critically acclaimed sequel to 2007’s Bioshock, remains in first place in the UK sales charts this week, although sales have dropped 44%.  That gives you some indication of the state of the chart, with older games dominating the top 10.

Tomb Raider made it to second place, despite 43% drop in sales (with only 2500 sales separating Bioshock and Tomb Raider), while FIFA 13, Defiance and Luigi’s Mansion 2 take up the remainder of the top 5. This most interesting fact comes from Defiance. 75% of purchases in the last week have been for the Xbox 360 version of the game, perhaps implying that more users on 360 are comfortable with an MMO.

Black Ops II, Assassin’s Creed III and Gears of War make up the next three spaces, with a surprise appearance from Lego Batman 2 in spot 9. Far Cry 3 makes up the top 10.

All in all it’s been a slow, fairly static week for sales in the UK, with only a few surprises.
