Tomb Raider and Final Fantasy Unite in Lightning Returns DLC

Lightning Returns is getting rapidly closer, and if you’re into dressing up your main characters in awesome outfits it seems a must-buy. Things have got slightly better today as well, with the announcement that day one purchasers will be able to download a pack that allows you to dress Lightning as Reboot Lara Croft, complete with a riot shield and survival axe.

It’s actually pretty damn awesome, as showcased by the trailer below. It might not be a reason to buy the game – in fact, it’s definitely not a reason to spend $60 – but it’s a nice little extra for those that have already pre-ordered, or who plan to pick it up day one.

This is the first time that Square Enix have officially brought together the worlds of Tomb Raider and Final Fantasy, even though it’s only a cameo. Perhaps in the future, in some sort of Project X scenario, there might be the chance for the characters to actually interact, but for Square-addicts, this will probably do.

The outfit and additional equipment will be available to download from the in-game store from the 14th February – launch day – on both Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. No cost is mentioned in the press release.
