Creative Redefines Pinnacle of Sound with Sound Blaster AE-9 and AE-7

Continuing its legacy of revolutionizing audio, Creative Technology Ltd has launched its most advanced PCI-e sound cards ever – the Sound Blaster AE-9 and the Sound Blaster AE-7. These cards use the highest quality components and are paired with the newest technologies from Creative. Together they define a new performance standard for the ultimate PC entertainment experience. Since 1989, over 400 million Sound Blaster devices have been sold, and the Sound Blaster brand has become interchangeable with ‘sound card’ itself. This means that Sound Blaster has been revolutionizing our audio experience in gaming, moves and music for 30 years now!

Sound Blaster AE-9 1

Through these three decades of experience and expertise in audio innovation, Sound Blaster has continued to push the envelope with the development of new digital audio processing technologies. Each of these innovations helped redefine the ultimate audio experience to the point where external sound cards evolved beyond PCs for platforms like gaming and entertainment consoles.

“In our 30th year, we will make greater strides than ever before in redefining the Sound Blaster experience. The AE series, which represents our biggest leap in PCI-e sound card innovation yet, is just the beginning.  Later this quarter, we will be introducing our latest addition to the ‘X’ series of multi-channel audio external sound cards; it will be the first Sound Blaster product featuring Super X-Fi, our game-changing and award-winning headphone holography technology,” said Sim Wong Hoo, CEO of Creative.

Sound Blaster AE-9 2

The Sound Blaster AE-9 is truly in a class of its own. Creative’s new flagship PCI-e sound card, the AE-9 uses audiophile-grade components like the top-of-the-range ESS 9038 SABRE-class reference DAC that delivers up to 129 dB DNR, PCM 32-bit 384 kHz sampling, DSD64 playback of lossless audio with ultra-low distortion and jitter elimination, and boasts Nichicon Fine-Gold capacitors, WIMA film/foil audio capacitors and swappable op-amps.

For the layman, this means that you will experience the highest quality sound you have ever heard through your computer. In addition, the Sound Blaster AE-9 introduces CleanLineTM Technology, a breakthrough in filtering your microphone path for only the clearest voice communication. This technology is designed to eliminate voltage rail issues and isolate noise caused by power supply ripple from high-performance GPUs. This truly makes the AE-9 one of a kind.

Sound Blaster AE-9 3

While the Sound Blaster AE-7 is second in line to the AE-9, it is still a veritable titan of sound. It is equipped with a hi-res hi-res ESS SABRE-class 9018 DAC that boasts up to 127 dB DNR, with 32-bit 384 kHz sampling and DSD64 playback. With a THD of 0.0001%, the AE-7 is a clear upgrade over the AE-5, and the competition. At its price point, the Sound Blaster AE-7 offers excellent value to those who aren’t seeking the absolute top-of-the-line performance offered by the AE-9.

In fact, the AE-9 and AE-7 share many features in common, including the full spectrum of Sound Blaster audio customization and enhanced audio realism with immersive 5.1 and 7.1 surround virtualization, award-winning amplification with the fully discrete Xamp headphone amplifier, the all-new Audio Control Module (ACM) that features direct and easy volume control, a headphone selector switch, a multi-function microphone input port and a built-in amplifier. Creative has also developed a new, streamlined software interface that focuses on user-friendly features and achieves more audio control with less clicks.

The Sound Blaster AE-9 (pre-order) and Sound Blaster AE-7 are priced at $349.99USD and $229.9USD respectively and are available at Creative.com
