Psychonauts 2 Review

The wait has been enough to drive a person crazy, but Psychonauts 2 is finally available to play. The beloved indie darling has lost none of its charm being developed by a now fully-fledged Microsoft studio. Instead, it’s a must-play platformer that justifies itself over and over again. Because realistically, a sequel to Psychonauts could have been a disaster. Reviving any classic is tough, especially when there was only ever one entry. But Double Fine have succeeded, and we’re all…

Outriders Review

Outriders is a very interesting experiment and take on multiplayer gaming, while not a game as a service it would be interesting to see if they offer anything beyond the campaign down the line because there is nothing there to drive me to get better loot or return to the game outside of creating a new character of a different class. But it is a very FUN game to play with friends if nothing else really grabs you about it. Plus it was an excellent addition to Gamepass, which is definitely helping the player count I think a lot. I definitely think this is a ...

Kingdom Hearts: Melody of Memory Review

Kingdom Hearts is a mess of mixed genres, overlapping storylines and convoluted writing, and yet we still love it. Its cheesy optimism and tight gameplay – not to mention the much-loved cameos – makes it a must-play for anybody with a heart (sorry, Nobodies). Melody of Memory takes all of that and basically just dumps it in the bin, replacing the best of the franchise with a self-indulgent Theatrhythm clone. And that’s not to say it’s bad. There are things…

Final Fantasy VII Remake – Intermission Review

It’s been a 24-year wait, but Final Fantasy VII’s new piece of story DLC – Intermission – shows us exactly what Yuffie was up to before she joined our party. God, 1997 suddenly feels a long, long time ago. Of course, it looks a bit better than it would have done 24 years ago – it’s probably one of the standout titles on PS5 today. It also continues one of my favourite things about Final Fantasy VII Remake – the…

Resident Evil Village Review

You’ve seen the werewolves. You’ve seen the ridiculously sexed-up memes about giant vampire ladies. Other than giving the internet a new fetish, Resident Evil Village is a worthy new entry in the long-running series – and a great indicator of just what these new consoles are capable of. The latest Resident Evil seems to have been more meme than game for most of its known existence. Don’t let that put you off. For all the cookyness we already know and…

MLB The Show 21 Review (PS5)

MLB The Show has had an incredible streak of consistently being one of the top hailed sports video games every single year over the last 15 years, this year’s installment continues to show why that remains true today. Some games find their formula they think works and then simply create visual enhancements or little tweaks here and there. But The Show keeps trying new things and improving on those that fans already love to begin with. This year also marks…

Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time (PS5/XSX)

Crash Bandicoot 4 finally gets its next-gen port. It’s About Time? Yes, it is. That barmy bandicoot is back on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X – but if you’ve waited this long, is it worth taking a plunge? That depends on how nostalgic you feel. Crash 4 is a throwback to a different time, and it pushes that idea often. It’s retro in almost every way that counts, including the difficulty. It’s a great game marred by occasional technical…

Little Nightmares 2 Review (Spoiler Free)

When you think of horror based video games, titles such as Residents Evil probably come to mind. It spooky and eerie, you don't look forward to creeping around that next corner, and the lighting is atrocious for a reason. It's spooky, and when played with the lights off, can cause even the bravest folks to get scared! Little Nightmares 2 takes a much different approach to the genre. While it retains the eeriness of other horror games, it's the sudden movements in unexpected places that make this title easier to play for less enthused horror genre players!
