Canada Plays 2025 – Kids Games from Kitten Games

Over the past few days I had the privilege of attending Canada Plays 2025 in Niagara-on-the-Lake, Ontario. The event, while primarily aimed at retailers and distributors, was attended by a few media members as well. Over the two days that I was in attendance, I had the chance to see upcoming games, walk the show floor, play in a tournament, and so much more. Over the next week or two, we will be publishing articles around our time at the event, so look for articles with “Canada Plays” in the title!

Today, I wanted to talk about the great kids games coming from Kitten Games, the company behind the very popular Exploding Kittens line-up of games.

You Little Stinker – in You Little Stinker, kids will be using a really fun silicone dog shaker. Dice will be popped into the shaker and then rolled, and depending on what is rolled will decide where dice go. Bone dice go to the boneyard card, stinker dice (dog faces) go to the opponent’s stinker card, and yes, you’ll want to avoid those mud puddles. The player who gets rid of all their dice first wins the game! Kitten Games sent us home with a copy of this game, and we had a great time with it already!

The Best Worst Ice Cream – In this ice cream cone making game, players will have cards with a variety of different flavors potentially on the back of the card. Players will need to correctly guess what flavor is on the backside of their card and if they are correct, it gets added to their growing ice cream cone. The first player to fill their ice cream cone wins!

Snack Monster – Snack monster is all about playing cards, spinning the spinner, and collecting and eating snacks. Cards in the game will dictate how you are supposed to eat snacks – eat like a robot, for example – as players work to get 8 snacks in their collection. Whether you use the included snack tokens used in the game, or use actual real snacks, there is a lot of fun to be had here!

Hurry Up Chicken Butt – everyone played Hot Potato and said, “This game needs to be a bit more exciting!”? Welcome to Hurry Up Chicken Butt. Players will pass around a chicken which will be quietly clucking, and on their turn players will need to perform some type of activity prior to passing the chicken to the next player. Roll the chicken butt and players will need to run and find/touch a specific card before returning to the circle to pass the chicken to the next player. Hold the chicken when it goes crazy and you are out! This one was sent home with us by Kitten Games, and we quite enjoyed the few rounds we have played already!
