More Thoughts From Me #45: Batman. Lego Batman

Over the holiday season, there was a little something called Black Friday. But even before Black Friday started, Nintendo had some cyber deals on the Wii U and 3DS eshops. My dad got Steamworld Heist, meanwhile, I downloaded Lego Batman 3 (it was only $9.99!). I had played the first Lego Batman and the second one too. I liked both those games, but I was not prepared for what I found with Lego Batman 3!

I have played a lot of the Lego video games. I own Lego City Undercover and I previously owned Lego Marvel and Lego Batman 2. I also rented Lego The Force Awakens. There are a few Lego games I hadn’t or still haven’t played. I still haven’t rented or bought Lego Jurassic World or Lego Harry Potter. I missed out on Lego The Hobbit too. But I can now check one game off of my missed Lego games list–I bought Lego Batman 3 recently!

I thought the first Lego Batman was good, despite it being pretty straight forward. The second one was even better, but still wasn’t as good as Lego Marvel or Lego Star Wars: The Force Awakens. Lego Batman 3 has really upped the series game though. There is full voice acting, explorable worlds, lots of secrets, and unbelievably cool cameos and unlockable characters. And the humor, as always, is the best part of the game.

Lego Batman 3 doesn’t take itself too seriously. The game makes fun of so many of the different heroes and villians of the DC Universe. One of my favorite lines from the game is “Nobody makes a toy out of Batman.” I just can’t stop thinking about that line and how it was delievered. I also love the humor of seeing people like Conan O’Brian and Kevin Smith show up in the game. My absolute favorite appearance though? Green Loontern, aka Duck Dodgers aka Daffy Duck. You wouldn’t expect to see him in a Lego Batman game and yet he’s in it! The humor in this game is so great. And the game itself is a ton of fun. There’s just so much to do.

You can visit the Batcave, go to different Lantern worlds, explore the Watchtower, and go to all kinds of other places in Lego Batman 3. Its amazing how many different places there are to go in this game. And in each area, you’ll find hidden surprises and new unlockable characters and vehicles. The Lego games have just become bigger and bigger as they go and Lego Batman 3 is definitly one of the biggest. I’m very happy with this game so far and it only cost me $9.99!

Lego Jurassic World was also on sale and I regret not getting it. Sooner or later, I want to play it! Even if I have to pay higher than $9.99 for it. I guess we’ll see. I can’t wait to see what other games Traveler’s Tales and Warner Bros put together. These Lego games are fantastic!

Have you played Lego Batman 3? What do you like best about it?

Next week: I should be getting the new Welcome amiibo cards this week or early next week. So I want to write about Animal Crossing Welcome amiibo again. What do I think about these new cards and returning animals? You’ll find out next week!

More Thoughts From Me is an opinion column. The thoughts expressed here are mine and mine alone. I’m Batman.
