Stadia Launches Free Access to Demos – Updated October 22

Beginning today, Google Stadia is offering numerous demos for folks to enjoy free of charge. No credit card is required to enjoy these demos – new ones launching the 20th, 21st and 22nd – but they are limited. Beginning today, folks can play a brand new PacMan demo! Here are more details from Google PR:

On each of October 20, 21 and 22 all Stadia users can play a brand new, exclusive demo or beta for free. These demos will be available for seven days, so play now while you have a chance!

  • Current Stadia gamers: play via Click to Play link or by navigating to the Stadia store
  • New Stadia gamers: play via Click to Play link or by navigating to the Stadia store; while an account is needed to play, neither Stadia Pro nor a form of payment is required to play these titles

  • PAC-MAN™ Mega Tunnel Battle Demo (Oct. 20; First on Stadia)

    • Jump into Elimination mode, one of the two game styles available in the full game, and play head-to-head in 64-player last-PAC-MAN-standing battles!   • HUMANKIND Beta (Oct. 21)
    • Expand your empire, discover new technologies, form diplomatic relationships, and master fully tactical battles within a 4X game of monumental proportions. HUMANKIND is a historical, turn-based strategy game where YOU will rewrite the entire narrative of humankind to create a civilization that is as unique as you are.
  • Immortals Fenyx Rising Demo (Oct. 22)
    • Play as Fenyx, a new winged demigod, on a quest to save the Greek gods and their home from a dark curse. Take on mythological beasts, master the legendary powers of the gods, and defeat Typhon, the deadliest Titan in Greek mythology, in an epic fight for the ages.

Day one of Stadia’s 3 days of announcements started off with a bang, including the announcement that Jedi Fallen Order will be available on the platform this November 24. Jedi Fallen Order was one of the best titles this year, and the development team not only created a fantastic single player Star Wars experience, but a fantastic single player game as well, regardless of the subject matter. For those that haven’t had access to this game before, now is a great time to jump in!

Hello Engineer is also coming, and it will be available first on Stadia. Here is more from PR:

  • Hello Engineer is a multiplayer machinery-building construction game set in the Hello Neighbor universe. Scavenge, craft and overcome challenges in the sandbox world of a mysterious amusement park. Put together incredible machines built of scrap, and beware of the Neighbor.

  • HUMANKIND Beta

    • In this Beta of the new 4X, turn-based strategy game, players will start with at the dawn of the Ancient Era, having just founded their first city. Explore, claim additional territory, research technologies, fight or befriend neighbours, and earn as much Fame as possible in order to transition to the Classical era. Choose from 10 cultures, each with its own special trait, emblematic building, and units, with a focus on replayability as players create different cultures. The Beta will end at the end of the Classical era or turn 100, whichever comes first.
    • Free gameplay of HUMANKIND Beta available through October 28. HUMANKIND launches only on Stadia and PC in April 2021. Pre-order now for limited-time pricing ($50.99 USD / €50.99) on the Stadia store.
  • Orcs Must Die! 3 Drastic Steps Expansion (Available on November 6)
    • Play 5 new scenarios including a brand new War Scenario, plus new weapons, traps, skins, and a new Endless Map to try. $9.99 USD or €9.99 in the Stadia store starting November 6.
    • Stream Connect will also be added for all Orcs Must Die! 3 players. Keep an eye on your teammate’s trap set up and work together to fend off the orc hordes!
  • ARK: Survival Evolved (Available early 2021; claimable in Stadia Pro)
    • Stranded on the shores of a mysterious island, you must learn to survive. Use your cunning to kill or tame the primeval creatures roaming the land, and encounter other players to survive, dominate…and escape!
