The game is going to be released in multiple regions around the world including the US and Canada. The prices vary from place to place. As of now, the one for PS5 and Xbox Series X/S costs around $89.99 for the standard edition and $119.99 for the ultimate edition in Canada. The new updates to the game have been summarized below.

More Focus on Women’s Football

FIFA has started to prioritize women’s football in the last few years. However, this is the very first time that FIFA is going to feature women’s club football. Yes, you’ve heard it right – you can now play Barclays Women’s Super League and Division 1 Féminine in the latest version of this series.

FIFA 23 is also going to be the first game in the series to feature a Women’s World Cup game mode, alongside the usual Men’s World Cup. And when Chelsea Women’s Sam Kerr makes it to the front cover of the game beside Kylian Mbappé, you know that women’s football is not lingering behind, at least not in FIFA.

Crossplay

FIFA 23 is going to feature cross-platform play in multiple game modes. Online friendlies, FUT Play a Friend, FUT Online Friendlies, Online Seasons, FUT Rivals, FUT Champions, and FUT Ultimate Online Drafts are some of the crossplay modes available in the game. However, it is only limited to same generation consoles, which means that players with PS4 will be able to play against the ones with Xbox One but not against PS5 or Xbox Series X/S and vice versa. Pro clubs will also not be available in the crossplay mode.

Realistic Animations

HyerMotion2 Technology is the new catchphrase that describes the quality of animations in FIFA 23. Basically, EA Sports is utilizing machine learning to create realistic in-game animations from live football matches.

And there is Technical Dribbling, which uses an ‘Active Touch” system to improve a player’s path to the ball, turning and dribbling, which makes it difficult to distinguish it from the real.

Overall, there are around 6,000 such hyper-realistic animations that are going to get featured in FIFA 23, but only for current generation consoles. Get yourself a PS5 or Xbox Series X/S to relinquish these features.

Ultimate Team ‘Moments’

A new single-player feature called moments is going to be available for all the Ultimate Team fans out there. Rather than playing a team game for 90 minutes, ‘Moments’ is going to ask you to complete different solo challenges based on a ‘Story’. Some of them are time-limited, while others are available throughout the game. And these ‘Stories’ are based on FUT themes, campaigns, or real-life football events from the past. You can earn FUT Stars via completing these challenges, which is basically the in-game currency to unlock various features of the game.

Redesigned Gameplay Features

FIFA 23 is going to incorporate a few changes in the gameplay as compared to its previous versions. Overall, we can expect some realistic game physics, redesigned set-pieces, and a feature called ‘power shot.’ It gives you more control over the direction, trajectory, and target of the shots in a high-risk, high-reward fashion, which means that the gamers need to invest some time practising these skills.

30th Is the Date

Lastly, there are going to be those usual inclusions and omissions, and changes in player ratings that are going to please a section of the fans while leaving the others dissatisfied. You don’t have to wait much to get in touch with these tiny details, since the game is going to get released in less than four weeks. You can pre-order the game and puff up your expectations till then.
