More Thoughts From Me: Digital Eclipse and Retro Collections

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles The Cowabunga Collection comes out next Tuesday. This is an epic collection of TMNT games that no one thought would ever happen. Later this year, Atari 50: The Anniversary Collection comes out too. What do these two games have in common? Digital Eclipse is the developer for both of them! Let’s talk about the two games and Digital Eclipse.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles The Cowabunga Collection is almost here! I mentioned before that I was really excited about this. My excitement for this collection has only grown as I’ve found out more about it!

Digital Eclipse, the developer of TMNT The Cowabunga Collection, packed the game with tons of content. There are 13 games in the collection, along with the Japanese counterpart games and more extras that I can wrap my mind around. The Cowabunga Collection comes with built in strategy guides, save anywhere and rewind, and a Turtle lair that plays host to behind the scenes sketches, ads, music, and more. There’s even a search engine! Whoa.

The developers put their all into this game. They are huge TMNT fans and wanted it to be the ultimate collection for fans and newbies alike. My brain feels like it might explode even thinking about this collection…

And if you find thats impressive…well…wait until I tell you about the Atari 50: The Anniversary Collection!

Digital Eclipse is also bringing the Atari 50: The Anniversary Collection out later this year. While my nostalgia for this collection isn’t as high as the Cowabunga Collection, this is still a super impressive collection. I really want to play this game too!

Why is the collection impressive? The Atari 50 collection features 90 plus games, from across several generations of Atari systems, from the Atari 2600 all the way to the Jaguar and Atari Lynx! Wow. Not only that but there’s tons of behind the scenes info and interviews presented in a timeline along with the games.

If that’s not enough, there are six new games included too. If you thought the Cowabunga Collection was huge, well, you ain’t seen nothing yet. Digital Eclipse went from a collection of 13 games to 90 plus. That’s a huge upgrade! That said, both collections look amazing.

Hopefully we can look forward many more cool and unexpected collections from Digital Eclipse in the future! Are you excited for the Cowabunga Collection and the Atari 50 collection?

More Thoughts From Me is an opinion column. The thoughts expressed here are mine and mine alone. I wish I had my hands on both collections NOW!
