Like No Other: The Legend of the Twin Books

The Nintendo Switch has a a lot of Adventure games. If you’re an old school gamer like me, then you are extremely happy about that! Like No Other: The Legend of the Twins Books is the newest Adventure game to come to the Switch. Is it a good game?

Like No Other: The Legend of the Twin Books is about an adventurer who goes looking to solve a mystery about two books. Its an okay story but it largely takes a back seat to the game’s adventure/puzzle solving.

If you’ve missed old adventure games that don’t lead you by the hand, then Like No Other should be up your alley. There are some clues occasionally via dialogue, but you are mostly on your own. You’ll have to explore every area and wrap your mind around occasional brain teasers.

Like old adventure games, this game has a cursor and you point and click on items. The controls are not as simple as other adventure games on the Switch. You’ll move the cursor and press the ZR button to pick something up, use something or change a puzzle. You press the X button to access your inventory and A to select an item for use. The controls take a bit of getting use to and are not as precise or well done as other Adventure games on the Switch. There are no touch controls which would’ve been a no brainer for this game.

Like No Other is a good adventure game but we’ve seen other Switch adventure games that were a bit better overall. It is a very good looking game though.

Like No Other is a very good looking game. The graphics look like an animated movie. Occasional animated cutscenes add to impression. The game has voice acting too and its not bad.

Overall, Like No Other is a good game. Adventure fans will enjoy its puzzles, exploration, and nice graphics. The controls take a bit of getting use to and the story isn’t great but its still not a bad way for adventure fans to spend time.

Like No Other: The Legend of the Twin Books gets 7.0 out of 10.

A digital code was provided for this review. Like No Other: The Legend of the Twin Books will be available today on the Nintendo Switch eshop!
