Playmobil Dino Rise Triceratops: Battle for The Legendary Stones Review

I’m fairly positive there is a lengthy backstory to the Dino Rise Playmobil series, but I’d be lying to you if I told you I knew what it was. Because I don’t. However, with a name like, “Battle for the Legendary Stones,” you know it’s going to be something good.

While we had no context for what this storyline might be, we did what we do best when we have a lot of Playmobil at our disposal! We improvise and become imaginative. And that is what we did here. Still, is there value in this set? Let’s take a look.
Additional Information: Figures: 1 teenager, 1 villain; Accessories: 1 triceratops, 1 back armor, 2 fire projectiles, 1 projectile gray, 1 net, 1 box, 4 energy stones, 1 mini-robot, 1 grapple, 1 hose, 2 helmets, 1 pair of arm cuffs, 1 chest armor, 1 pair of arm guards, 1 bandana, 1 change wig
“Sometimes the enemy is much smaller than expected, for example a mini robot. The nasty little machines try to scout out the Dino Rise team’s plans unnoticed and get the big fighting robots ready for battle. But the Dino Rise Team does not let itself be seen that easily. In order to be equipped against big and small opponents, the armoured Triceratops not only has a normal cannon, but also a trap net cannon. If his partner Jaden hurls out the catch net at the right moment, the mini-robots are pinned down and thus immobilised. Strong dino-human power for tricky special missions.”

Listen, if your child isn’t a fan of dinosaurs, there probably isn’t a path forward for you here. Thankfully, my son is obsessed with dinosaurs, so getting this set with a fantastic, chunky triceratops was outstanding. The set comes with a ton of great pieces, and includes two figures so multiple kids can play at the same time. You will get one regular figure and one villain, so choose your side and get ready to fight! What over, you might ask? Well, seems like we are fighting over the 4 energy stones included with the set. Why are these stones important? I’m not really sure, but we decided they were the stones needed to control the triceratops!
What I absolutely love about this set, however, is that everything is super high quality. The dinosaur specifically is top notch, and I’m so happy to have it in this set.
From a play standpoint, you can’t really go wrong with the Dino Rise theme. While it might not fit well with the majority of your Playmobil sets, even on its own it is a really good time!
