New Playstation Plus Subscription Model Launches today!

Sony’s new subscription model is live in both North and South America today! Are you still confused with the new structure and pricing? If so, we got you covered.

First up is Playstation Plus Essential – this is basically what Playstation Plus was already, access to online gaming, exclusive discounts, cloud gaming and a couple of free games monthly for PS4 and PS5.  There are no changes for anyone in this plan already and pricing remains the same:

Playstation Plus Extra – This one gets you everything above, PLUS access to a catalog (up to 400) games from the PS4 and PS5 Era – which are available to download and play.

  • Provides all the benefits from the Essential plan and adds a catalog of up to 400* of the most enjoyable PlayStation®4 (PS4™) and PlayStation®5 (PS5™) games – including blockbuster hits from our PlayStation Studios catalog and third-party partners. While certainly this is not meant to really compete with Gamepass it is a pretty substantial upgrade if you buy into the extra or premium versions. It’s always nice to have options and there is a ton to experience for the first time if you hadn’t or revisit if you played before to keep you busy for quite a long time.
