Uncharted 4: Plunder Mode from #PAXEast

Plunder mode is making a return to the Uncharted series and those who attended (will be attending) #PAXEast this weekend will get to be the first to play it. Many Uncharted fans will remember it from Uncharted 2 and 3, and should be fairly excited about its announcement in Uncharted 4. From what I hear, it’s actually a pretty awesome game mode, so I’m really looking forward to trying it out when Uncharted 4 hits in May.

There will be a few changes to Plunder mode this time around, as detailed in a blog on the Playstation website. From Sony,

For those familiar with the classic Plunder game type, we’ve made a few updates. In previous Uncharted games, people carrying the idol could not traverse with it; we removed this constraint. Also, Plunder has been a five-on-five experience in the past; we changed that to four vs. four. No doubt this may cause shortness of breath for fans of the mode, but worry not! Given the number of mechanics that have been introduced into our multiplayer’s moment-to-moment gameplay, Plunder at four vs. four is perfect and we hope fans that experience this mode at PAX East feel the same.

We look forward to playing a few rounds of Plunder when we finally get our hands on a copy of Uncharted 4. Hopefully, that will be sooner, rather than later, but regardless, we will definitely have extended coverage on this mode, and all the modes and story available in Uncharted 4 around launch day.
